Lauren Sugarmann, Sc.B., is a third-year medical student at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University perusing a scholarly concentration in Reproductive Health. She is a graduate of Brown University with degree in Biology on the Neurobiology track. As an undergraduate, she pursued research on the role m6A RNA in the regulation of cancer stemness for the development of glioblastoma therapies. As a medical student, her research focuses on the intersection between neurosurgery and reproductive health with an aim to improve maternal health outcomes for neurosurgical patients. During her time at Brown, she co-developed and currently leads Community STEM, an organization currently partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Providence to increase STEM visibility for public middle and high school students.
