A growing body of evidence suggests that the impact of surgery varies amongst different molecular subtypes of brain tumors. There is also an emerging set of ultra-rapid molecular diagnostics that enable intra-operative genetic classification. This session would explore emerging options for intra-operative molecular classification and discuss ways to refine the surgical treatment of gliomas and skull base tumors through rapid genetic subtyping.
