Rukun Dou is a first-year medical student at McGill University in Montreal. He is a member of the Neurosurgical Simulation and Artificial Intelligence Learning Centre, where he works under the mentorship of Dr. Rolando Del Maestro. With a strong background in programming, Rukun’s research focuses on the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide novel solutions for neurosurgical training and clinical practice. As an aspiring surgeon scientist, he works towards bridging the gap between operative neurosurgery and computational innovation. In addition to his scientific pursuits, Rukun is dedicated to the history of medicine, specifically the evolution of neurosurgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Outside of his academic interests, he enjoys French debating, swimming and cycling.
