Jeffrey Zuccato, M.D., Ph.D., FRCSC, is a faculty neurosurgeon at OU Health with a subspecialty focus in skull base surgery and neuro-oncology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto and completed residency training in neurosurgery at the same institution. He underwent postgraduate training with a Skull Base Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. His clinical practice focuses on the neurosurgical management of intra-axial and skull base tumors using both open and minimally invasive endoscopic approaches.
He also holds the academic title of Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science at the University of Toronto studying new brain tumor molecular biomarkers. His research program is focused on the identification of diagnostic and prognostic brain tumor biomarkers, on liquid biopsy and non-invasive brain tumor biomarkers, and on the integration of molecular biomarkers into patient care. He has published his work in Nature Medicine and Neuro-Oncology and has presented his work at multiple major national Neurosurgical and Neuro-Oncology meetings.
