PhD Candidate
University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio
Nicole Marion, B.S., is a neuroscience researcher and doctoral candidate at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), pursuing her Ph.D. in Integrative Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience. Her research investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurogenesis and brain injury disorders, with a particular focus on the role of low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1) in adult neural stem cells. Working under the mentorship of Dr. Naomi Sayre, Nicole explores how disruptions in LRP1 signaling affect hippocampal memory, anxiety-like behaviors, and stress-induced alterations in brain function.
