Dr. Ali Tayebi Meybodi is currently a PGY7 resident in the Department of Neurosurgery at Rutgers University, where he is spending his final residency year at the Rutgers University. Originally from Iran, he completed his residency in neurosurgery in 2011 and became board-certified in his home country. In 2014, he began a neurosurgical research journey at UCSF and subsequently at the Barrow Neurological Institute.
His research primarily focuses on designing new approaches to the skull base, creating innovative models of microvascular anastomosis, and identifying new anatomical landmarks in neurosurgery, as well as various clinical neurosurgery projects. He has a deep passion for neurosurgical anatomy and is currently collaborating with his mentors, Dr. Mark Preul and Dr. Michael Lawton, to write a book titled "Surgical Approaches to the Temporal Lobe." His interest in Neurosurgical History has won him 3 Vesalius Awards. In 2019, Dr. Tayebi Meybodi decided to refresh his neurosurgical knowledge and skills by joining the Rutgers Neurosurgery Program as a resident. Despite his demanding schedule, he continues his research pursuits. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality moments with his wife, traveling, learning mathematics, and playing strategic computer games.
