Assistant Professor
Stanford University
I am a dual fellowship-trained neurosurgeon and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. My clinical practice is focused on treating complex brain, skull base, and pituitary tumors with expertise in minimally invasive and expanded microscopic and endoscopic techniques. My laboratory works on developing personalized treatment strategies for brain and skull base cancers, including gliomas, chordomas, chondrosarcomas, craniopharyngiomas and aggressive meningiomas. We explore how aggressive tumors modify their metabolism to grow, resist treatment, and evade the immune system. We use patient derived tumor organoids and advanced next generation sequencing techniques to test novel treatment approaches and drugs. Our goal is to quickly translate findings from the laboratory to the patients through window of oportunity clinical trials.
