Warda Ahmed is a recent graduate of the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She is passionate about pursuing neurosurgery and has been working on cerebrovascular neurosurgery research with Dr Omar Choudhri at the University of Pennsylvania. She has published almost 30 research articles, including several first author papers along with having mentored more than 400 medical students through leadership positions at her university. Her research interests include cerebrovascular neurosurgery, neurosurgical oncology, and global neurosurgery, with a particular interest in the cerebral venous system. She was granted a travel award by her medical college Dean to travel and present her work at the AANS on this first feasibility study exploring the use of balloon assisted occlusion in retrograde cerebral venography to enhance visualization of the cerebral venous system.
