    Francesca Totis, MD, is a Research Fellow at Duke University who graduated with top honors from Humanitas University, Milan, Italy. Her extensive research background includes roles at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as serving as the Research Chair for Mission: Brain, where she coordinated several projects. An author of many papers in journals such as Neurosurgery and Neurosurgical Focus, her current work is centered on spine research and adult spinal deformity surgery
