Alexa Hirshman is a third-year medical student at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a graduate of Wake Forest University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She has been actively involved in neurosurgical research alongside Dr. Stacey Wolfe, studying mechanisms of brain injury and intracerebral hemorrhage, particularly in the context of cardiometabolic disease. Her developing academic interests include neurovascular and skull base neurosurgery. Alexa aspires to pursue a career in neurosurgery with a focus on translational research that improves clinical care and neurological outcomes.
