Nicolai Blasdel is an MD-PhD candidate at New York University Grossman School of Medicine with an interdisciplinary background in neuroscience and neuroimmunology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Systems with Highest Distinction from the University of British Columbia. Following graduation, he conducted research on neuroregeneration and cellular reprogramming in the Reh Lab at the University of Washington. His current research interests include systems neuroscience and functional neurosurgery, with long-term goals at the intersection of neuroscience, surgery, and translational research to improve patient outcomes. In his free time, he enjoys hiking in the Pacific Northwest, sailing, and exploring the New York City food scene.
