Georgios Skandalakis, MD, PhD is a pre-residency fellow at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and will join the University of Utah Department of Neurosurgery as a PGY-2 neurosurgery resident in 2026. Dr. Skandalakis has a strong academic interest in neuro-oncology, epilepsy surgery, white-matter anatomy, and the integration of advanced neuroimaging into surgical planning. His work has focused on understanding the structural connectivity underlying motor, cognitive, and pain networks, with the goal of improving precision in neuromodulation, tumor surgery, and eloquent-area mapping. Dr. Skandalakis is deeply grateful for the mentorship he has received and is committed to academic neurosurgery, education, and collaborative research.
