He graduated from Texas A&M University and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. His academic interests are in neuro-oncology, socioeconomic issues in neurosurgical care, and healthcare policy. He is currently the CSNS Melany Thomas Fellow.
