Anthony J. Schulien, M.D. is a current PGY-5 Resident and Enfolded Complex Spine Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery. He is interested a career as a neurosurgeon-scientist with current clinical interests complex spine deformity and spine oncology. He has had a longitudinal career in basic and translational neuroscience, with a primary focus on therapeutic targeting of Kv2.1-mediated neuronal apoptosis following cerebral ischemia and has published and presented broadly -- both nationally and internationally -- on this topic.
