Personal Statement
I am a fellowship-trained spine surgeon with formal engineering training and extensive experience in medical device development, translational research, and complex spinal pathology. My clinical practice focuses on adult spinal deformity, complex spine reconstruction, pelvic fixation techniques, and technology-enabled surgical innovation. I have led and participated in multidisciplinary research spanning biomechanics, advanced imaging, virtual surgical planning, and device design, with outcomes published in peer-reviewed neurosurgical and orthopedic journals. My prior industry experience as a senior R&D engineer and inventor on multiple awarded patents informs my academic focus on translating novel technologies into clinically meaningful solutions. I am committed to advancing spine surgery through innovation, education, and systems-based quality improvement.
