Sarah Soubra is a second-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine interested in pursuing neurosurgery. She obtained her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was involved in research focused on uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying alcohol and drug addiction. She just completed a research year under Drs. Sheth and Provenza where she focused on the structural connectivity underlying response to DBS for OCD. Her research interests center on the use of DBS in the treatment of psychiatric and motor disorders, improving their clinical application, and advancing understanding of the structural, functional, and molecular mechanisms of these conditions.
