Siddhartha Maharjan is a second-year medical student at Albany Medical College with a research focus on the impact of socioeconomic factors on outcomes in large vessel occlusions. His interest in stroke care developed while working in the emergency department, where he witnessed firsthand the effects of acute cerebrovascular disease on patients and families. His research aims to understand how social determinants of health influence stroke outcomes and to identify opportunities to reduce disparities in vulnerable populations. He is passionate about advancing equitable stroke care through research and advocacy. His prior research experience includes studying Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 1 using quantitative gait analysis.
