Columbia University Department of Neurosurgery
Hannah Haile is an MD/MS student at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, currently completing a dedicated research year in neurosurgery at Columbia University Medical Center. Originally from Budd Lake, New Jersey, she graduated from Dartmouth College, where she studied Theater prior to pursuing medicine. Her research in the Gill Lab at Columbia focuses on cancer neuroscience and glioma–neuron interactions, with an emphasis on how tumor-induced changes in neuronal signaling influence disease progression and patient outcomes. She has worked to develop human iPSC-based in vitro models of the peritumoral microenvironment and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in neuro-oncology. Her work has been supported by the Dean’s Research Fellowship and the NREF Medical Student Summer Fellowship.
