Dr. FNU Ruchika secured her medical degree in India after which she joined the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins under the mentorship of Dr. L. Fernando Gonzalez. She has spent the last two years working on an intracerebral hemorrhage rodent model and has recently secured a Brain Aneurysm Foundation grant to study vasospasm in subarachnoid hemorrhage. She is actively involved in multiple collaborative projects across basic, translational, and clinical domains, with ongoing work in preclinical immunotherapy models, neurointerventional outcomes, and nationwide database studies.
Her goal is to advance patient care through targeted, mechanism-based therapies. She plans to pursue her neurosurgical residency and contribute to both patient care and translational research. Outside of work, she enjoys indoor climbing, hiking, reading novels, cooking and indulging in different cuisines.
