Dr. Mahmoud M Elsayed, MD is a Research Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he is actively engaged in advancing clinical and translational research in neurosurgery. He earned his medical degree from Mansoura University and completed his residency training in Egypt, building a strong foundation in clinical medicine and surgical care.
Dr. Elsayed is dedicated to a career as a physician-scientist, with a primary focus on spine surgery and neuromuscular disorders, particularly muscular dystrophies. His work bridges clinical practice and research, with an emphasis on improving patient outcomes through innovative, evidence-based approaches in neurosurgery.
He is the founder of the MME Research Lab, an initiative committed to mentoring and training medical students and early-career researchers worldwide. Through this platform, he has supported the development of numerous research projects and fostered a collaborative environment that empowers young investigators to contribute meaningfully to scientific advancement.
