Medical Student
Morehouse School of Medicine
I am a medical student at Morehouse School of Medicine, with an interest in neuroscience, and neurosurgery. I value community service, medical education, clinical experience, mentorship, and research.
I participate in clinical science research at Emory University School of Medicine’s department of neurosurgery, under Dr. Kimberly Hoang, with a focus on clinical/surgical outcomes in neuro-oncology.
I am also a member of Dr. David Gimbel’s lab, at Emory, where I participate in basic science research, with a focus on therapeutics and treatment for patients suffering from brain injury. I am currently involved in pre-clinical studies in which we utilize mouse models for our therapeutic testing.
Most recently I am engaged in research with the University of South Florida, Department of Neurosurgery where I contribute to functional neurosurgery research under Dr. Yarema Bezchlibnyk, MD, PhD.
My goal as a medical student has been to learn as much as I can about pathology of the nervous system, and how we as clinicians can intercede on behalf of patients to improve and prolong life. My objective as a student research assistant has been to learn how phyisicans can accomplish the goal of ameliorating patient suffering through new evidence, and scientific innovation.
