Michael Fletcher is a first-year medical student at Indiana University School of Medicine from Franklin, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University in May of 2024 with a B.S. in Biology and Neuroscience, and a B.A. in Medical Humanities. Prior to medical school, he conducted 3 years of research examining the molecular basis of systemic pain following repeated central nervous system injury, along with potential pharmacotherapeutic mechanisms to attenuate it. Since beginning medical school, he has gained a strong interest in examining the application of molecular and genetic testing in improving outcomes for intracranial neoplasms in the pediatric population. Other areas of interest include the use of diffusion tensor imaging to examine functional outcomes after high-grade subarachnoid hemorrhage. He is currently conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Jignesh Tailor, Dr. Bradley Bohnstedt, and Dr. João Paulo Almeida.
