Ahmed Abdou is a medical student at the Texas A&M School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) interested in pursuing neurosurgery. He earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science from The Pennsylvania State University and completed a Postbaccalaureate Premedical program at Columbia University. Before medical school, he worked as a scientist at Pfizer Vaccine Research & Design, applying machine learning and AI to viral vaccine development, and as a researcher at Columbia University, where he used computational biology approaches to study RNA–protein interactions. His current interests include Deep Brain Stimulation for neuropsychiatric disorders and the use of medical informatics and data science to advance patient care.
