Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Erika Quinn is a board certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in neurocritical care, currently practicing with the Department of Neurosurgery in the division of Neurocritical Care at UTHealth Houston, working across multiple Memorial Hermann campuses in the Texas Medical Center and Houston community centers.
After graduating from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA in 2009 with a degree in Health Sciences, she decided to pursue nursing and subsequently went to Villanova University for an accelerated bachelors in nursing the following year. Her career in neurosciences began as a NeuroICU nurse at Universeity Hospital, affiiliated with Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, and evolved into advanced practice after earning her masters of science degree from New York University, and subsequent practice with Altantic Health System in the NeuroICU at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. After moving to Houston, TX in 2017, she worked with the neurosurgery department at HCA West Houston, followed by her current role with UTHealth Houston in 2019. In addition to her clinical time in the NeuroICU, she has currently been piloting a new graduate APP program, specifically designed for new gradate APPs transitioning into practice in a neurocritical care environment, with the idea that dedicated subspeciality training is imperative for creating effective APP team members.
