Dr. Adogwa is a board-certified neurosurgeon and Associate Professor of
Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati, where he also holds appointments in
the Departments of Neurology and Family Medicine, Division of Geriatrics. He is the
Director of the Spine Translational and Aging Laboratory and leads several
institutional initiatives focused on enhanced recovery, surgical outcomes, and the
neuroscience of aging. In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr.
Adogwa recently completed an MBA at the University of Oxford(UK)
He completed his residency in neurosurgery at Duke University and Rush Medical
Center, followed by advanced complex spine fellowships at Washington University
in St. Louis, Lyon, France, and Accra, Ghana, training under world-renowned
mentors including Dr. Keith Bridwell and Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei. He is cross-trained in both orthopaedic and
neurosurgical spine techniques, offering a unique and comprehensive perspective to
complex spinal deformity care.
A prolific academician, Dr. Adogwa has authored more than 600 abstracts, peer-
reviewed publications, and book chapters, with over 8200 citations and an H-index
of 51. He has served on several committees in AANS, CNS, Lumbar Spine Research Society, Spine Section, and Cervical
Spine Research Society.
