Christopher H. Comey, MD FAANS Biography
Dr. Comey practices neurosurgery in Atlanta, Georgia with Legacy Brain and Spine, LLC. He was born and raised in the New York metropolitan area, attended the College of William and Mary, followed by Rutgers Medical School. He completed his neurosurgery training at the University of Pittsburgh and then had the good fortune to complete a complex spine fellowship with Dr. Reg Haid at Emory University. During his over 25 years of practice, Dr. Comey has consulted with industry, built a surgery center, and held numerous surgical and medical staff leadership roles, culminating with his tenure as Chairman of Surgery at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford Connecticut. In this role, Dr Comey oversaw seven residencies, two fellowships, two medical school clerkships, and a wound care program. He was instrumental in bringing the institution from Level 2 to Level 1 Trauma ACS verification. Pairing his love for travel with neurosurgery, Dr. Comey continues to work with and teach spine surgeons at Bugando Medical Center in Mwanza, Tanzania. His other passion is weight training and powerlifting competition. He lives in Duluth, GA with his wife and best friend, Liz.
