Dr. Martina Stippler is Vice Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery and Director of Neurotrauma at Beth Israel Deacons Medica Center, and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School. She is the BIDMC/ BMC Neurosurgery Associate Residency program director. She completed her neurosurgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She has a busy complex spine and anterior skull base practice. Her research interests are in multi-modality TBI management, triage of mild TBI, and goal of care discussing the urgent setting. She completed the Rabkin medical education fellowship and holds local and national roles to enhance continuing medical education by empowering faculty to employ active teaching techniques.
Dr. Stippler is the 76th President of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. She serves as Washington Committee Liaison, and Senior Advisor to the CNS Foundation. Dr. Stippler is also the past chair of the AANS/CNS Section of Neurotrauma and Neurocritical care and a member of the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons. Her academic work focuses on developing clinical guidelines for traumatic brain injury and surgical education. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
